Ante Abramović Biography

Ante Abramović, born on May 17th 1903 in Posavski Podgajci, Croatia was famous Academic Painter. He started his artistic education in Zagreb, Croatia under tutelage of E.Tomašević and O.Postružnik. Later he came to Belgrade, Serbia and there in School of Arts he completes his studies in 1934 under tutelage of Milan Milovanović. He works as Professor of School of Pedagogy in Belgrade. His first collective exhibitions were in 1936 with groups „Bojkotaši“ (Boycott) and „Nezavisni“ (Independent). After World War II he has many independent and collective exhibitions (1940, 1952, 1956, 1957, 1961, 1976). In addition to his art and Pedagogy he works on book illustrations. He received many rewards and recognitions during long productive career. He passed away in 1985 in Belgrade.

Prva slikarska znanja dobio u Zagrebu (E.Tomašević, O.Postružnik). U Beograd dolazi 1928, gde 1934. završava Beogradsku Umetničku Školu u klasi čuvenog profesora Milana Milovanovića! Bio je profesor Više pedagoške škole u Beogradu. Prvi put izlaže 1936 s’ „Bojkotašima“, zatim sa grupom „Nezavisni“. Posle rata učestvuje na mnogim kolektivnim izložbama. Samostalno izlagao u Beogradu (1940, 1952, 1956, 1961, 1976) i Zemunu (1957) Bavio se, pored pedagoškog rada i ilustracijom knjiga. Dobitnik mnogih nagrada i priznanja.
